Alumni

Duke alumni and certificate program alumni are engaged in every aspect of our work.

Alumni can connect to the Center by:

  • Joining our email lists to keep abreast of Center events, research and programs.
  • Attending the Futrell/Melcher awards dinner. The Futrell Award and the Melcher Award programs, created and funded by Duke alumni, provide an annual opportunity for current student journalists and alumni in media-related professions to come together for an awards banquet honoring an alum and a student. All alumni are welcomed to attend!
  • Volunteering to provide career guidance for Duke undergraduates enrolled in the Journalism Policy and Media Studies Certificate program.
  • Assisting students, staff and faculty in identifying internship opportunities for students. Check out our internships page to see what students did last summer!
  • Letting us know if you plan to visit campus. We would be delighted to tell you about events happening while you are here, and connect you with students and faculty.

To do any of the above, or connect to the Center in any other way, please contact Shelley Stonecipher, Tel: 919-613-7306.
