The Reporter’s Lab, officially known as the Project for the Advancement of Public Affairs Reporting, soft-launched this summer as a vehicle for the computational journalism initiative at Duke, which aims to reduce the cost of original public affairs journalism. Under Sarah Cohen‘s direction, the Lab will “curate, create and deploy tools, techniques and research into a vital phase of journalism that has sometimes been left behind by technology—the expensive work of uncovering and piecing together investigative and public affairs stories from reluctant sources and obscure or secret records.” For more information visit the Lab’s website.
