Blythe Tyrone joins the DeWitt Wallace Center for Media & Democracy as a Senior Public Relations, Events and Digital Media Specialist, bringing more than a decade of experience in strategic communications, marketing, and storytelling in higher education. She comes to the DWC from Duke’s Center for Teaching and Learning, where she served as the Communications Manager and worked with faculty, university leaders, and campus partners to tell clear and engaging stories for audiences at Duke and beyond. Her experience spans media relations, integrated campaigns, content strategy, branding, digital communications, events, and major university initiatives. Her communications work during the COVID-19 pandemic contributed to the Learning Innovation team receiving a Duke Presidential Award in 2022. Blythe holds an M.S. in Communication from NC State University and a B.A. in Writing/Communication from Maryville College. Outside of work, she enjoys travel, horseback riding, strength training, board games, and reading.
