Known to most as simply “Dean Sue,” Sue Wasiolek has spent more than 50 years at Duke University, including as associate vice president of Student Affairs and Dean of Students.  Wasiolek not only worked at Duke, but also attended the university as a first-generation, low-income student. After graduating from Duke, Dean Sue went on to complete her JD at North Carolina Central University, an LLM at Duke and an EdD at the University of Pennsylvania.

Wasiolek now teaches in Duke’s program of education, in the Journalism & Media minor, and in Duke’s Immerse Program in Civil Discourse and Democracy.
