Barry Yeoman is a freelance journalist who specializes in putting a human face on complex political, social, and environmental issues. His articles have recently appeared in The Washington Post, National Wildlife, The Baffler, The Nation, and The Guardian, and he writes regularly for the non-profit Food and Environment Reporting Network. He is the author of The Gutbucket King, a multimedia narrative about the New Orleans bluesman Little Freddie King. He is a winner of the National Magazine Award for Public Interest and numerous other prizes. He lives in North Carolina.
